Overview
Venus (Shukra) is a natural benefic and the guru (teacher) of the demons (Daitya Guru). Picture that great kingdom once more: the King (Sun) rules and the commander (Mars) fights and hard-earns the wealth — but a life of only conquest and coins is mechanical and joyless. Venus is the royal artist who fills the kingdom with festivals, music, art, fine food and beautiful palaces. Earning wealth is one thing; the good fortune to actually enjoy it in peace is quite another — and that enjoyment is Venus's gift.
