Rudraksha Recommendation

The Rudraksha Recommendation tool prescribes the most suitable Rudraksha bead for you by examining the strength and afflictions of planets in your birth chart. Rudrakshas are sacred seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, classified by the number of natural faces or mukhis they bear, and each mukhi carries a distinct planetary and deity association. The right bead supports the weak planets, soothes malefics and amplifies natural strengths within your horoscope.

What Rudraksha Means in Vedic Practice

Rudraksha translates as the tear of Rudra, the form of Lord Shiva, and is considered one of the most potent natural remedies in Sanatana Dharma. Sacred texts such as the Shiva Purana, Padma Purana and Srimad Devi Bhagavatam describe its origin and detail the powers of the various mukhi beads. Unlike gemstones, Rudraksha is gentle and rarely contraindicated, which makes it suitable for spiritual aspirants, householders and those who cannot wear stones due to dosha conflict. It is worn on a copper, silver or red thread mala and energised through chanting and abhisheka.

How Beads Map to Planets

One mukhi Rudraksha is associated with the Sun and the supreme consciousness; it is recommended for weak Sun, leadership and solar afflictions. Two mukhi represents the Moon and Ardhanarishvara — useful for emotional balance, mother and family matters. Three mukhi is for Mars, helpful in clearing anger, blood-related issues and Kuja Dosha. Four mukhi rules Mercury, supporting intellect, speech and learning. Five mukhi is the most common bead, governed by Jupiter, suited for general well-being, dharma and spiritual growth. Six mukhi corresponds to Venus, aiding relationships, marital harmony and artistic pursuits. Seven mukhi calms Saturn and removes Sade Sati distress. Eight mukhi is for Ketu, dispelling obstacles in the manner of Lord Ganesha. Nine mukhi pacifies Rahu and the goddess Durga. Ten mukhi is a protective bead linked to Lord Vishnu. Eleven mukhi is the bead of Hanuman and is recommended for courage and protection. Twelve mukhi reinforces the Sun further. Thirteen mukhi is associated with Indra and Venus for fulfilment of desires. Fourteen mukhi, the Devamani, is highly prized for Saturn, intuition and divine grace.

How the Recommendation Is Made

The tool first identifies functional benefics and malefics for your ascendant. Weak but auspicious planets — for example a debilitated yoga karaka — are supported by their corresponding mukhi. Strongly malefic planets in trine or kendra are pacified by the bead that calms them rather than empowering them. The current Mahadasha and Antardasha lord are also considered, and a bead that strengthens or moderates them is suggested for daily wear. For a balanced approach, a multi-bead mala combining Five, Seven and other mukhis is often advised for general spiritual practice and stability.

Wearing and Using the Bead

Rudraksha is traditionally energised on a Monday or Shivaratri with the chanting of Om Namah Shivaya 108 times. It is worn touching the skin, ideally near the throat or heart. The wearer is expected to maintain basic cleanliness, avoid intoxication and refrain from wearing the bead in environments that contradict its sanctity. Rudraksha should not be shared with others, and broken beads are replaced. When chosen on the basis of the actual chart rather than fashion, the right Rudraksha becomes a quiet, lifelong companion that gradually shifts the inner climate in alignment with one's dharma.
