The Puja Suggestion tool examines your birth chart for doshas, afflicted planets and karmic patterns and then prescribes the most relevant Vedic pujas in priority order. It identifies whether your kundali calls for a Kal Sarpa Shanti, a Nakshatra Puja, a Navagraha Puja, a Mahamrityunjaya Yajna, a Rudrabhishekam or a sade sati shanti, and ranks each suggestion by the severity of the indication so that you can act on the most pressing remedy first.
Why Pujas Are Suggested
Pujas in Vedic remedial astrology are structured rituals performed with mantra, agni and dravya — chants, sacred fire and offerings — to invoke a particular deity and pacify the corresponding karmic indication in the chart. Whereas a gemstone or Rudraksha works through subtle resonance worn on the body, a puja works through concentrated devotional action over a fixed duration. The Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra, Phaladeepika and various Agama texts list specific pujas as primary remedies for severe afflictions, and many acharyas hold that no other upaya can substitute for the right yajna performed at the right time.
How the Tool Identifies the Right Puja
The chart is first scanned for major doshas. Kal Sarpa Yoga, where all seven planets are hemmed between Rahu and Ketu, calls for a Kal Sarpa Shanti at Trimbakeshwar, Kalahasti or another designated kshetra. A debilitated or severely afflicted Mars triggers Mangal Dosha and Manglik Shanti. Saturn passing through the twelfth, first or second from the natal Moon indicates Sade Sati and a Shani Shanti. A natal nakshatra in Gandanta — the junctions Revati-Ashwini, Ashlesha-Magha and Jyeshtha-Mula — calls for Nakshatra Shanti. Birth on Amavasya, Krishna Chaturdashi or during a Grahana indicates a separate set of doshas with their own shanti karmas. Severe Pitru Dosha — Sun and Rahu in the ninth, or afflictions to the ninth lord and Sun — calls for Tarpana and Narayan Bali.
Priority and Ranking
Multiple doshas are common, so the tool applies a priority logic. First-tier doshas, such as Kal Sarpa, severe Sade Sati or active Mahadasha of a heavily afflicted malefic, are tagged as urgent and head the list. Second-tier suggestions cover preventive pujas such as Mahamrityunjaya for health, Sudarshana Homa for protection against enemies, and Lakshmi Kubera Homa for sustained prosperity when the second and eleventh houses are weak. Third-tier suggestions are devotional and supportive, such as monthly Pradosh and Ekadashi pujas. Each suggestion comes with the recommended deity, the auspicious Tithi or Nakshatra for performance, and the typical scale — household puja, temple seva or full homa — required for the indication.
Performing the Puja Correctly
A puja's effectiveness depends on the sankalpa or intention, the qualifications of the priest, the use of correct mantras and substances, and the alignment of the Muhurta. For graha-related pujas, the planet's own day, hora and a friendly Nakshatra are preferred. The yajamana, the host of the ritual, is expected to observe a brief vrat — usually one to three days of vegetarian diet, abstinence and silence — to receive the full benefit. Where travel to a kshetra is not possible, qualified pandits can perform sankalpa-based pujas at temples on behalf of the chart-owner. Used in combination with daily mantra and lifestyle adjustments, the right puja at the right time can decisively redirect the trajectory of difficult dasha periods and unlock blocked yogas in the chart.
