The Pratyantardasha Calculator computes the third level of Vimshottari Dasha — the sub-periods within your currently-running Antardasha. Each Antardasha is divided into nine Pratyantardashas of weeks-to-months duration. This is the level at which the themes of the Mahadasha and Antardasha begin to manifest as specific, concrete events on the calendar.
How Pratyantardasha is Calculated
The duration of each Pratyantardasha is computed by the same proportional rule used at every Vimshottari level: pratyantar_years = antardasha_years × pratyantar_lord_years / 120. A 2.41-year Mercury Antardasha contains a Mercury Pratyantar of ~125 days, then a Ketu Pratyantar of ~51 days, and so on. The cycle starts from the Antardasha lord and proceeds through the nine planetary lords in the standard Vimshottari order.
Why Pratyantardasha Matters
Pratyantardasha is the layer that turns broad dasha themes into actual event-windows. A favorable Mahadasha and Antardasha set the backdrop, but the specific month or fortnight when a result fructifies is most often pinpointed by the Pratyantardasha lord and its placement, dignity and aspects in the chart. It is the standard dasha level used for short-term predictions over the next few months.
What You Get from this Calculator
- All nine Pratyantardashas of your currently-running Antardasha, with precise start and end dates.
- The currently-active Pratyantardasha highlighted so you can see where you stand today.
- The breadcrumb of Mahadasha → Antardasha → Pratyantardasha lords for full dasha context.
When to Use Pratyantardasha
Use Pratyantardasha to time events at the week-to-month resolution: contract signings, short trips, examination results, medical recovery windows, project milestones. It is also the layer most commonly examined when reconstructing the dasha context of a past event whose date is known.
